Trial Sites

Trial Sites are your WebinOne development environments for starting new site projects, before you publish to a custom domain name.

The number of Trial Sites available and the timeframe until they expire, depend on your WebinOne reseller level.

Quick Start

Setup a Trial Site

Once logged into your WebinOne Portal you should arrive at the ‘Trial Sites’ page.

From here, use the “Create New Site” button to start a new site instance, completing the information required for your site as follows:

Option

Site Name
A descriptive name for your project.
Root Domain
Either webinone.com or, for white-labelling, trialsite.co or your own branded domain/s (if your reseller level allows).
Subdomain
Usually autocompletes, but you can change if needed.
CMS Plan
An appropriate plan for your project requirements/budget.
Template
Choose a blank site or one of the free WebinOne templates (preview the templates via the blue button).
Data Center
Choose the server location best for your site.
Country
Set your sites primary location.
Time Zone
Set the server time to be used for all your site's date/time functions.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for any admin logging into the site. See 2FA documentation here for more info.

Access to White Labeling and Granular White Labeling depends on your WebinOne reseller level.

Access to Direct Billing depends on your WebinOne reseller level.

Click "Save" and within approximately 1 minute your site instances should spin up and be ready to access.
(the instance will appear in your ‘Trial Sites’ list with a pending status until ready)

Granular White Labeling

The branding options will become available in the site’s admin area, under the gear () icon in the top right of the screen.

Your client will also be able to see these settings when logging in to the site admin unless you change their admin user role permissions, as detailed in the Admin Users section below.

Custom Branding

You have the ability to customise the branding of your Admin and login screen. Below are the options available:

Option

My logo for dark background
This is the logo that will appear in the upper left-hand corner of the admin area in the top banner bar with a background color of #292e34.
Maximum size of the logo is 151px wide x 62px high.
My logo for light background
This is the logo used for the admin login screen. The logo will sit on a white background with approx. 45px padding all around.
Maximum size of the logo is 200px wide but can be any height.
Background image
This image is used as a full screen background on the admin login screen, sitting behind the white login box.
The image will be set to fit the browser viewport with no repeat.

Admin Users

Admin User Roles can be configured to control how admin users access and use Granular White-labeling.

Direct Billing

If the site is in Trial Site mode, the “Billing” option will become available in the site’s admin area, under the gear () icon in the top right of the screen. Your client will be able to see this when logging in to the site admin and initiate their own billing directly to WebinOne as well as activating the site and assign a custom domain name.

The activation process, and adding of the domain name, will follow the same process as documented in the Trial Site Activation steps.

If the site is already activated at the time you enable Direct Billing, please contact WebinOne support in order to reset the current billing arrangement and enable a new billing subscription set up by the client via the Direct Billing process.

The billing page accessible to your client from the admin will look like the below, allowing them to select their desired billing period (annual or monthly) along with their billing details (for invoice generation purposes - which will be sent to the purchaser).

Direct Billing Payment Page

If your reseller level permits, you will also be able to set your commission amounts, whereby your direct billing client will see only your custom pricing and you’ll be paid your commission amount. See how to set your Commission amounts here.

Renewal Notifications

When Direct Billing is enabled, site subscription renewal notifications will be emailed to the purchaser's contact details provided during the billing set up.

The renewal notification email will look like the below:

Direct Billing Renewal Email Notification

For monthly subscriptions, reminder notifications will be emailed 3 days prior to the subscription expiry date.

For annual subscriptions, reminder notifications will be emailed 30 days prior to the subscription expiry date and again 3 days prior.

Editing a Trial Site

From the Trial Sites list, clicking the pencil () icon for a site instance will provide further configuration options.

Site Settings

Under the ‘Site Settings’ tab, you’ll see the same settings as when setting up the Trial Site initially.

Here you’ll be able to edit the site's Name, CMS Plan, Country, Time Zone and 2FA settings. Other settings are locked and cannot be changed or require WebinOne support to change on your request.

Depending on your WebinOne reseller level you may also see options here for enabling Granular White Labeling and Direct Billing.

FTP

Provides the general FTP configuration details for the site instance.

Further details regarding FTP settings can be found here.

Extensions

All available extensions for the site instance will be listed here under the heading ‘Available Extensions’, where they can be installed or further information about the extension be reviewed.

Any installed extensions will be listed separately under the heading ‘Installed Extensions’, where their settings (if applicable) can be configured or the extension uninstalled (via the trash can () icon)

Commission

Reseller commission, for this site instance, can be customised here which will apply if Direct Billing is enabled.

With Direct Billing enabled, your client will be able to pay directly for the site plan via the site admin. They will see your customised pricing only (not the regular WebinOne pricing) and you’ll receive your commission value once the payment has been processed.

Both the yearly and monthly subscription types can have customised commission values, either via a percentage markup or fixed value.

Pricing and calculations will be shown based on the currently configured CMS site plan, displaying the profit amount as well as any Stripe processing fees.

Access to Customisable Commissions and Direct Billing depends on your WebinOne reseller level.
